1) Batanes Islands- In terms of sheer serene beauty, this one takes the cake. The Batanes group of Islands is located at the northernmost portion of the country. Peace and quiet is what you will get here plus a whole different culture than the rest of the country. They have stone huts for lodging and the endless sea to enjoy. The landscape is hilly and thick with green foliage and at night you get treated to a star show like no other.

2) Boracay- Boracay is probably the most well known place in the Philippines right now having earned the reputation as being the place to be for beach fun and parties year round. A lot of events happen on any given day and this gets punched up several notches during the summer. You can go skimming, snorkeling, hiking, yachting and yes, swimming as well. Save some energy for the incredible nightlife however as the parties kick off early and end early… in the morning.

3) Baguio- Before Boracay was such a hit, Baguio City was the undisputed Summer Capital of the Philippines. Located up north in Luzon, this mountainous region is flocked by tourists because of the numerous tourist spots and cool climate. You can go bargain shopping and boat riding or move slightly out of the city to go strawberry picking. Baguio is still one of the best destinations in the Philippines.

4) Bohol- The island of Bohol is located in the Visayas region and is one of the low key yet absolutely amazing places in the Philippines. They have the Loboc River where you can have lunch while drifting along a raft as you are being serenaded by a local musical group. It is also the best time to see the Chocolate Hills (Picture in this article), a place with numerous hills that look like melted chocolate during the summer.

5) Tagaytay- While no longer having the cool weather it used to have, Tagaytay remains to be a popular tourist destination. The view of the Taal Volcano is great but if you’re the more adventurous type, why not be in the view? In Tagaytay you can go to the volcano itself after a short boat ride from the town center.
